Summer is on its way >:) Proof:

Normally, I don't bask in the sun and take pictures with leesy leese, but you can't just pass up weather like this. While increasing our risk of skin cancer this afternoon I was playing my guitar, Peter. THEN! Hoards of EFY children appeared from thin air and overtook the lawns everywhere. Naturally, we were heated. That all changed when a couple of youngsters started tossing quarters at us for playing guitar. HELLO LAUNDRY. We don't mind them so much anymore ;)

Oh, but what did I do over the holiday weekend? I'm glad you asked! I may or may not have flown to Texas to surprise rinnie rinster with my body and hang out with her and Brittany Tennant. I walked in her kitchen and said, "oh, hey". She then proceeded to cry and hug me. win >:) We went on a lot of quests, which included finding a chamber of secrets, meeting molly franco, and other things. HEHEHE. We also pranked Brittany in the shower. Can't ever let her get too comfy:

THEN OH MY LANTA! Today there was a book festival on campus. David Archuleta made an appearance. I wish I was obsessed with him more. Ah well, still got an awkward picture.

I was more impressed that Madeline, Curious George, and others could drop by.

And best of all, I got my face painted like the champ that I am :)

I can nearly taste summer :) can't wait to be home!

This is on a playlist of mine that I've been meaning to delete.. I'll get around to it soon.

This weekend I hung out with my excellent friend, James. He doesn't know it, but he helped me smile more than I had all week. We went on a few adventures which may or may not have included:

visiting the secret spot and face stalking people from our hometown
hunting down some shades and a hat for his job this summer
watching the king's speech (eh, a bit overrated)
Pwning each other via mario kart #toad4lyfe
trying Five Guys for the first time...not too shabby
talking about old times :)

We've been great friends since sixth grade and totally had a thing for each other when i was 12 <33 now that we're all grown up, we're no longer tween loves as we once were but great friends indeed :) He's leaving on his mission in August for Fort Worth, Texas and I couldn't be more proud of him. Best of luck Elder Daniel!

So, like I mentioned earlier, this last week I've gone pretty much without a smile. Too many things happened and I realized I didn't know myself as well as I thought I did. Since then, I've made some pretty big decisions in order to find out. I've felt something foreign from a mixture of about a million different emotions and struggled to understand that what I want isn't always going to be what is practical...and that's the hardest part.

I'm ready to pull a Tom from 500 days and get my life back in order...and I just really want a cool montage of me doing really successful things over these next few weeks played to a sweet song.

I don't regret this last week at all though. I found out more about who I really am, and that's never a bad thing. I'm moving forward from this point and I'm confident of getting somewhere.

Mother Hen

...ok so this song has nothing to do with the post, but it reminded me of things.

Anyway, happy Mom Day! This is the first Mother's Day I'm spending away from my mom and it feels weird. Look, there she is!

LIST OF REASONS WHY MY MOM RULES:
1. cooks me real Salvadorian food
2. attends zumba classes regularly
3. always exaggerates the time when trying to wake me up from a slumber
4. is best friends with all the nail ladies at the salon.
5. is a champ when it comes to business negotiations
6. speaks English with an accent that all my friends like so much
7. listens to the Eagles
8. came to all my soccer games and would always lather my face with sun block. the embarrassment.
9. calmed my fear of an alien abduction when i was ten
10. raised me to be who I am today

This was taken almost a year ago. That day she told me she was proud of me. It's my favorite picture.

She's the person I admire the most, and I love and appreciate her more than any blog post can do justice.

In all seriousness though, I don't know how Corinne does it. She's the person I can think aloud with. We've talked about our fears, secrets, dreams and desires. I'm Holly Henrich, I hardly ever show my emotions. I'm the most bad-ay chick you'll ever meet (new lightsaber being added to collection soon). She knows who I really am and has still stuck around all this time. She's laughed with me, pranked with me, and as of late, cried with me. She's the most selfless best friend I could ever ask for. She knows exactly how I feel all the time and has always been there for me. Even when I first met her a few years back, she knew exactly how to be my friend in a time that I needed one the most.

Truth is everyone, Corinne is the best friend we all want to have in our lives. She'd do anything for me..even if it ends up hurting her. I don't deserve a friendship like this, but I don't ever want to lose it. I realized recently how much she means to me through an experience I wouldn't wish upon any foe. She's the person I need the most, and I'm blown away to even be considered her best friend. I wouldn't want to fight any sith lord without her.

location, location.

So last weekend I went back to my homeland to visit before I came back to Provo for another six weeks. I'm currently having a spring fling with the cadavers in Anatomy and rekindling my love with my calculator in math <33

That's right baby, the TI-84 Plus. I liken it unto Ash's pokédex, dexter. In class I turned to Annalise and referred to theta as pokéball. she said " -__- , that's theta". haterz gon' hate. But I mean, look at this thing:

what I would do to get my hands on one of those bad boys..

Anyway, like I was saying, last weekend I was able to spend some quality time with my family and friends:

pumping iron runs in our family, as you can see.

also, so does swag.

suite 2216/2218.

kind of how I feel at this point..

I started a new chapter of my life when I graduated high school.  There are certain people that have been in this chapter and have made my story quite interesting literature. I'll introduce you to a few of my favorite characters:

Rinnie rinster aka corinne morrison. She made an appearance in an earlier chapter at EFY a few years back and we've kept in touch which lead to the decision to become sweet-mates (see what I did there). She's got the pretty girl swag and is familiar with the right kind of music. This one kept getting kicked out of my band for various logical and illogical reasons. Oddly enough, she's one of the closest people I've let in (my fort). After countless nights staying up talking about an infinite number of things and ideas, I've come to really know her. She's one of the strongest people I've met and I have nothing but genuine respect for her. Rinnie rinster is goin places folks, and I can't wait for others to see how excellent she is <33 She's a keeper, maybe even my best friend, and I miss her..kind of a lot..but she'll never know that. Safe to say she'll be in at least a few more chapters.

Leesy-Leese aka AnnalisAAAY, aka Annalise Strange. Yes. You are in my blog now. This is really happening. Anyway, this south carolina loving confederate army supporter was my roommate (i know, i know). Complete credit to her for buying me my current light saber. She was my personal trainer/secretary/motivator in classes, all of which I am forever grateful for. Leesy leese was super patient with all my crazies/ brilliant brain blasts and for that, I think she can survive any roommate. I've prepared her well. I wish her luck on the journey to finish the Harry Potter series, and I'll see her next week for Spring term :)

Britt-neeee aka Brittany Tennant. She crazy. Brittany was always injuring herself in one way or another in the dorm. She has a pretty sweet voice and big dreams. This chick was always working hard at everything she set her mind to and was a pretty good psych whenever I needed someone to talk to. I also admire her determination to watch every single episode of How I Met Your Mother (which she accomplished). Although we may disagree on dumbledore vs yoda, she's still someone I'll go to the secret spot with.

So. I lived with these three for the last eight months. It was a delightful experience. I'm sad to turn the final page on this one... <3

10 Days

Ten days left before the semester is over and I get to go home for the weekend to see family and friends. This is how I spent day eleven, Saturday:

Roommate Brittany and I went to Borders to snag some books. I'm more of a Barnes & Noble girl, but since Borders is closing down, stores everywhere are practically giving away their books and I needed to take advantage of such an event. To our horror, the Borders we went to wasn't shutting down and didn't have any deals. Moded. So we left. Cravings for the written word continue.

After those dramatic five minutes, we attempted to ding dong ditch our other roommate, Corinne, with an excellent cupcake. I felt like the neighborhood rascal I always wanted to secretly be while waiting and giggling with Brittany to see her open the door. Unfortunately she had her earphones in and we had to come in and hand deliver the delicious treat. Foiled again.

After that, Jake Slemboski joined us and we went to Emily Brown's album release at Velour Music. Our ears were filled with great music from the Hernandez sisters, Jen Blosil, and of course the Emily Brown. Hear for yourself :)
